Hey Everyone

    It's Lacey...

Just a note to say thanks for helping out with my fundraiser for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Ride For Kids. I wanted to share with you how important the work is that you helped to make possible.

As a result of this one gathering on May 15th, $227,315 was raised for the PBTF!

It was cool and rainy at Honda’s Torrance headquarters as the crowd of 600 supporters gathered, but the riders weren’t deterred. We hugged the Pacific coastline for miles before returning to honor 13 local brain tumor survivors.  Dylan, Yverline, Grayson, Amanda, Hannah, Lisa, Bayleigh, Michelle, Marisa, Stephanie, Elise, Ethan and Tia shared their perspective on life with a brain tumor. Stephanie was diagnosed at 11. Now 19 and legally blind, she said, “You gain more than you lose. You gain a family through support of motorcyclists.”

This is when we met Grayson, seen below. Grayson has been diagnosed with a dangerous brain tumor. His mother spoke of her fears and ultimately her gratitude that her little boy has been "adopted" by these motorcyclists, their donor friends, and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

Grayson

Thank You...Your money will provide treatment, possibly brain surgery for Grayson in the coming months.

The money will additionally help several other little kids, many of which we met and who we rode along with (thanks to the Southern California Sidecar Association).  It will also provide for research at the nation's most advanced facilities...facilities that specialize in work that is aimed at reducing the likelyhood of small children ever having to suffer with brain tumors...

Thank you for helping to make THAT happen.

Many of you donated because you wanted to join me in paying tribute to our great friend LARA HOWARD YORK, who grew up in our North Rialto neighborhood, went on to accomplish greatness in her own life, to inspire all who knew her and many who didn't. Lara passed on this year of a type of brain tumor that often settles quietly in the brain of a small child, only to manifest itself later.

Lara

Thank you for honoring Lara by helping these sick children and their fearful parents...your gift-I'm sure-made our friend very proud and warmed the hearts of her family.

Oh yeah...I haven't even mentioned the part about riding with HUNDREDS of bikers on my 50th birthday...

I smiled and laughed the whole time with Bobbi Albano, who rode along with me. We had a blast riding with sooooo many other motorcyclists on the most beautiful strip of highway in California and through Los Angeles to the cheers of those who lined the streets to watch this incredible spectacle go by.

You and I raised over $1300.00!!
